Project Description

The PGY1CONNECT™ Project includes General Surgery clinical sites affiliated with Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center in Chicago, where rotating members can rotate with an attending who is an influential surgeon on the residency program faculty roster and also directs general surgery clerkships at the local university. According to members, he is a distinguished attending with whom it is an honor to work, saying “This is the best rotation and attending physician I have experienced! He is an excellent teacher with a great bedside manner, discussing the clinical relevance of cases and also offering his personal take on and approach to current surgical techniques. He is also very approachable and proved accommodating to our questions, encouraging members and sharing his personal experience as an IMG.” During a typical week, members will be expected to work with the attending at both his outpatient clinic and other facilities when he goes into surgery, so private transportation or ride-sharing services (Uber, Lyft, taxis) are essential so members can take full advantage of the opportunities at this PGY1CONNECT™ site.
