* Must be registered for the NRMP Main Match
In the 2018 SOAP™*, 1,055 residency candidate’s medical careers were resuscitated by Matching into unfilled slots during SOAP™, 213 of whom were International Medical Graduates, 211 were U.S. Osteopathic Grads, and 581 were U.S. Allopathic Grads*.
If you join AmeriClerkships now, you could be the next doctor who succeeds in the 2019 Match. AmeriClerkships is the only entity with comprehensive SOAP™ preparation packages and pre-selected PGY1CONNECT™ clinical sites with immediate openings to help you Match during SOAP™, changing your life forever. Best of all, SOAP™ is already included in the NRMP™ and ERAS™ fees you paid, so you should absolutely take advantage of it*.
Why Prepare for Match Week’s SOAP™ with AmeriClerkships?
Expertise: the annual SOAP event is near and dear to our hearts, as this is how our President, Dr. Pedram Mizani, secured his PGY1 residency position in 2001. By serving as a former residency admission committee member, the former Chief of Morehouse School of Medicine’s Family Medicine Residency, and the 2007 founder of the now 3000+ members-strong AmeriClerkships Medical Society, Dr. Mizani leads the SOAP expert team at AmeriClerkships.
PGY1CONNECT Clinical Sites: only AmeriClerkships is able to offer you clinical sites that are linked to over 3,000 positive residency Match outcomes.
Experience: the 2019 Match marks our 18th anniversary, helping AMS members through every SOAP® and Scramble season since 2001!
Our track record shows that “We Make Doctors”™: Since the success of Dr. Mizani, we have stood by the side of 3000+ AMS members as they prepared for residency – and compiled over 3,000 documented positive Match outcomes! We can help you too.
SOAP™ stands for Supplemental Offer and Acceptance Program: a 48-hour capstone to the annual Match, where only ~1,100 of the 13,000+ unmatched residency applicants survive by finally matching into a U.S. residency.

Absolutely! The AmeriClerkships staff is very responsive to your needs, especially when we’re nearing Match Week, by including expedited services such as “Fastart” (for clinicals to begin in as early as 7 days) and “Fastrevise” (document revision within 1-7 days) at no additional charge. We have weekly SOAP workshops, and Dr. Mizani holds his office hours each week to address all residency strategy concerns.
If you are a SOAP™-eligible residency applicant with less than six same-specialty interview invitations by Nov. 1st of the year preceding your Match (especially if you are an International Medical Graduate – IMG), then you will want to prepare for SOAP™ with an AmeriClerkships Certified SOAP™ Membership to make sure that you take advantage of every opportunity to secure a residency.
To be SOAP™-eligible, three things must have occurred: 1) Registered with both NRMP™ and ERAS™ prior to NRMP™ registration deadline (typically before 3rd week of February for that Match year), 2) Passing USMLE Steps 1, 2 CK and CS results by no later than first week of March of that Match year (essentially be ECFMG™ Certifiable), AND 3) Be unmatched or only partially Matched. Your SOAP™ eligibility is determined by your sponsoring institution; click here to be redirected to NRMP™ for more details.
The majority of PGY1 unfilled slots during the 2017 and 2016 SOAP™ were PGY1 slots, which are the most suitable positions for unmatched candidates who have not employed a PGY1-P + PGY2-Advanced combined strategy during the regular Match season. Through a personalized strategy session with Dr. Mizani, and the 1-on-1 approach we use for each of our members, we will help you best prepare for SOAP™ based on what YOU have to offer.
That depends on the level of service you require. You can enroll in our Certified SOAP™ Memberships at any time; however, we strongly urge you to enter the Match Week with NO GAPS in patient-contact and U.S. clinical experiences from January to March of your Match year. The 2018 Match Week begins March 12, 2017, so ideally you should be in clinicals before and after this time. The minimum required processing time for clinical placement can be as little as a few days. Complete the form below now for a free personalized analysis.
20+ years of medical studies prepare medical graduates for the challenges of practicing medicine, not a 48-hour application battle. Unlike the vast number of programs and specialties that you can apply to during the regular Match season, SOAP™ is a highly regulated event that will cap you at applying to 45 programs! So the stakes are extremely high, and even a simple oversight on your behalf can set your medical career back by years (if not decades) – especially if you are an International Medical Graduate. With so much happening in such a short time, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed, but don’t worry – the AmeriClerkships team of Match Week Experts brings over 17 years of Match Week experience, and is led by Dr. Pedram Mizani, MD, a Match Week success story himself! We know we can help you as well.
PGY1CONNECT™ sites are the top 11% of AmeriClerkships’ clinical sites: a set of distinguished physicians and clinical sites who are linked to residency interviews and Matches by AmeriClerkships Alumni! The combination of AmeriClerkships Certified SOAP™ Membership + PGY1CONNECT clinical experience right before and during Match Week is strongly recommended.
The combination of AmeriClerkships Certified SOAP™ Membership + PGY1CONNECT clinical experience right before and during Match Week will not only provide you with an unparalleled last-minute opportunity to secure updated Letters of Recommendation (LORs), but will also answer one of the most commonly asked questions during Match Week/SOAP interviews: “What are you doing right now?” and “When was your last patient contact?” Additionally, PGY1CONNECT clinical sites have been linked to residency interviews and Matches, so to be alongside influential physicians when potentially unmatched is priceless.
